There are two large potteries a steam
laundry and several other thriving industries.
A large flouring mill. which makes
the finest grades of flour in the United
States. and which took the prize over
the mills which carried the honors at
the World's Fair, and also has been
awarded first premium at the Texas
State Fair for eight consecutive years
is located here at Denton. The citizens
should surely feel proud of such
an enterprise.
Denton is one of the best shipping
points in North Texas. It has made
more advancement in the past year
than any city of its size in the state.
Any person who is familiar with all
the facts. must admit that the developements
of the past two years has
not been one-twentieth of what it
will be in the next five years, as it is
surrounded by the most fertile country
in the state.
It has a magnificent climate the
year round, making it a desirable
location to live in, as well as its wideawake
business facilities.
Denton County is one of the best
counties in the Lone Star State. The
soil is of three principal varieties,
black-waxy. black-sandy and a chololate
loam. The county is fitted for
stock raising and farmfng. The field
products are cotton, corn,wheat, oats,
millet, hay and potatoes. Fruits,
peaches, apples, plums and melons.
Denton County is the center of the
grain region of Texas. The country
